Average Lumen Maintenance Characteristics Lumen maintenance for solid-state lighting devices (LEDs) is typically defined in terms of the percentage of initial light output remaining after a specified period of time. Lumileds projects that LUXEON S2000/S3000/S5000 products will deliver, on average, 70% lumen maintenance (L70) at >35,000 hours of operation at a forward current of up to 700mA.
